Day 1 agenda highlights

NRF 2020 Vision is taking place in New York City from January 12 – 14. In this blog series, we’ll take you day-by-day through the NRF 2020 agenda, touching on key highlights to help you navigate the Javits Convention Center. In this issue, we will cover the sessions taking place on Day 1 of the conference.

Welcome to NRF 2020! The retail industry is taking over NYC for NRF Retail Week, gathering the leaders, movers, and makers of retail innovation under one roof to share ideas and collaborate on a vision for the future of retail. From the biggest names in retail technology to emerging industry leaders, this Expo connects you as a retailer to the technology solutions trailblazing the future of retail. Previously, we covered the top sessions to attend throughout the Expo. In addition to these sessions, here are our top three picks to attend on Day 1: Sunday, January 12:

  1. Driving better experiences with real-time, location-level data insights

Success in retail is no longer driven by prices or reputation, but rather the level of excellence a company can deliver in each and every interaction with its customers. In this session, a representative from Happy or Not, the smiley face buttons customers can press to express their level of satisfaction with customer service, will be highlighting the importance of instant customer feedback for real-time results, empowering in-store teams to enhance customer service in the right moments.

Sunday, January 12. 10:15am-10:45am. The FQ Lounge, Stage 4, Expo, Level 3.

  2. Brick-and-mortar 2.0: Making every customer count

Smart retailers are using technology to deepen their relationships with customers and create unparalleled shopping experiences in-store. To explore this connection, Parinda Muley, VP of Innovation and Business Development at Macy’s, will be joined on stage with other industry leaders to discuss how to optimize brick-and-mortar stores in the modern retail landscape.

Sunday, January 12. 11:00am-11:30am. The FQ Lounge, Expo, Level 1, back of 1100 aisle.
  3. From points to passports: Reimagining the loyalty program
Join big-box retailers Reebok and Target Corporation for a session on building upon customer relationships with a reimagined loyalty program. By sharing exclusive offers and point rewards, retailers can add value to the customer experience, bridging personalized connections between the brand and a community of loyal shoppers. Sunday, January 12. 12:00-12:30pm. Shyft Stage, Level 4.

During Day 1, retailers also have the opportunity to participate in one of four exclusive Expo Tours covering key topics driving the future of retail: Artificial Intelligence, Customer Experience, Digital Experience & Ecommerce, and Future & In-store Tech. During the Artificial Intelligence tour, you’ll meet ZineOne, one of the 28 technology leaders selected by NRF as a top AI solution, to learn how our in-session marketing platform can enable you to gain critical insights into customers historical, environmental, and in-the-moment context to enhance the customer experience in real time.
